Rio Hondo College - Study Abroad Program Home Page Guanajuato Mexico is a large state in Mexico, but it is also a somewhat remote and very unique place where the skys are blue and is walkable from one side to the other in an hour or so. Surrounded by a mountian range that makes a complete circle.

In 2006 I went with Rio Hondo College to Guanjuato Mexico as a student to learn Spanish and study Mexican culture as part of the colleges summer foreign study program. During this month in Guanjuato I lived with a host family, ate only athenticate meals, visited remote cities and churches in Mexico, learned to dance Salsa (sort-of), visited the museum of the mummies, a few of its mines and more. Living in Guanajuato had its challenges but was an awesome experience and an opportunity to make some friends I would never have made in Mexico otherwise. It was a chance to bond with another culture and become part of another family.
